Art Class: Watercolours

This class is abpout learning skills that particualry are imporntant when painting in watercolour.  Teh traditional skillls are taught, but newer and more adventurous skills are also included. Starting with washes and wet in wet techniques, students are guided throught th properties of the paints, the right paper and brushes to use and how to really make watercolour vibrant and exciting

The skills taught include:

• wet in wet
• dry brush work
• the properties of watercolour
• colour theory and use
• composition
• perspective
• masking with different techniques

Lena teaches students to recognise their own voice and gain skills to advance in the direction that they choose. The result is an amazing variety of different work, underpinned with traditional skills, but showing exciting outcomes. Some of the outcomes from the last 10 years are shown here.
